According to a new report by the CDC, teen drinking and driving rates have been reduced by 54% percent in the past twenty years, dropping from 22.3% in 1991 to 10.3% in 2011. Part of this reduction has been accomplished simply because teens are, on the whole, driving less overall. However, advocates also claim that increased public awareness of the threats posed by drinking and driving, as well as efforts by law enforcement agencies across the country to crack down on this problem, are behind the reduction
